Alain Furic was trading langoustines on the Guilvinec dock when his 14-year-old son Jules joined him. Together they founded the Compagnie Bretonne du Poisson in 1923. The current cannery at Saint-Guénolé harbour, Penmarc'h, was formally re-established as La Compagnie Bretonne in 1998 under the fourth generation of the Furic family. Jean-François Furic's children Sten and Maria now run it. Vintage-dated sardines, artist-edition tins, and hand-processed albacore from the Pointe de Penmarc'h.
