Albert Ménès returned to Landerneau, Brittany, after years in the French navy with a taste for the flavours of distant ports and a determination to share them with Parisians. He founded his fine grocery company in 1921, importing rare products from across France's regions and beyond. The seafood range, produced at a Breton cannery with nearly a century of history, includes vintage-dated sardines, albacore tuna, and cod livers from Iceland. Thierry Hervey relaunched the brand in 1986 as a fine grocery label found in supermarkets, with over 400 products.
