António Manuel Pinhal started his company in 2019 in Matosinhos, carrying a name that goes back to 1882 when his ancestor António Rodrigues Pinto Pinhal arrived from Espinho to work the city's fishing industry. The current iteration is a fourth-generation return to the trade: sourcing from Matosinhos canneries, producing under the Emporium and Camões labels, and working the international gourmet market that his predecessors once supplied as exporters.
