Barracuda

Barracuda (Sphyraena spp.) is a large predatory fish found in tropical and subtropical coastal waters worldwide, noted for its sharp teeth, impressive speed, and striking appearance. Several species are fished commercially, with great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) and Pacific barracuda (S. argentea) the most significant. The flesh is firm and white with a moderately strong flavour. Barracuda appears in tinned form from Caribbean, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Island producers, where it is a regional food fish rather than a global commodity. Ciguatera toxin accumulation in larger specimens limits commercial exploitation of some species, particularly in tropical regions.
